Tequila! By Ben Brugman
Travel to Spain tonight and visit Café Sevilla. Sevilla is San Diego’s #1 Spanish restaurant and tapas bar located in the heart of downtown. Get to know one of their hottest bartenders Brenda, who claims her favorite cocktail is Fortaleza Tequila straight up in a pint!
“The extent of my Spanish is ‘Poquito, no habla espanol’ and ‘por favor’. I know the words to some of the Spanish songs they play in the bar, but I have no idea what any of it means.”

Favorite Drink: Tequila…yup, in a pint glass! No need for ice or a chaser. Either Fortaleza or Clase Azul.
Worst Tequila: Patron!! I don’t like it and its super overrated.
Favorite Drink to make: Pineapple upside down cake shot. Stoli Vanilla Vodka, Pineapple juice, with a Grenadine float.
Least Favorite Drink: Irish Car Bombs
Biggest Tip: $200 from some drunken guy.
Is $1 per drink a good tip? Yea, it’s pretty standard.

Least favorite part of your job: When people don’t tip!
What’s it take to become a regular? People that come in two to three times a week and are friendly.
What celebrity would you most want to have a beer with? Ashton Kutcher.
Favorite thing on the Sevilla menu: Calamari and the Sangrias!
Worst pick-up line you have ever heard? All pick-up lines are bad!
How many phone numbers to you get during a typical shift tending bar? Minimum of four when I work upstairs and even more downstairs. They always write them on their receipts and I have never called any of them back.
What’s the strangest thing a customer has ever done? Some old man sent flowers here on my birthday with an anonymous card that said, “You want to do lunch sometime?” The strange thing is that I don’t know how he knew it was my birthday.
Happy Hour is daily from 5 to 6:30pm and all day Sundays and Mondays with half-priced tapas and daily drinks.
